Warriors (Novel)

Our current novel study is the book, “Warriors into the Wild,” by Erin Hunter.  The story is packed with action as we follow Rusty’s adventure from house cat to clan cat.  The conflicts between rival cat clans in some ways mirrors our own society.  We see common themes like territory and identity, status and rank, and punishment and reward.

A few of the questions we asked when reading chapters one to three:

– A clan is like a family.  Do you have a clan or family that you identify with?

– How loyal are you to your family, friends and teachers?  Is loyalty important?

– Do you think that you could be loyal to a warrior clan?  What if something bad happen in the clan that you do not like, for example, if one of the Warrior cats killed an apprentice cat for no reason?
